Haunted Manor .. 8

As you walk along the snow laden hilltops of what seems to be Tioga Lake (as a sign notes), you notice a mouldy, disused fishing rod sat next to a rather old looking boulder. However, your rucksack is full to the brim and the heat is smoldering. A friend you have met along your travels tells you that this fishing rod may be of use to you at some point in your journey. Do you take her advice and take along the fishing rod at risk of passing out with the heat and weight, or do you leave this object which may be of use at a later point in the place you found it? There is also a possibility you may remove other handy tools from your bag such as a pick axe and a chipped shovel. The sign you previously noticed branded Tioga Lake seems awfully suspicious, as you seem to remember the place from somewhere before. You think it's Lake Lugano of Switzerland. Do you go with your instinct or simply go along with the sign? The choice is all yours... In the near distance your attention is drawn in by a scrawny looking tree with a big whole in the middle, slap dash in the middle, a perfect sphere. After closer expection, you notice a small animal perched inside, however you have no idea what it is. You see it's completely white eyes, but nothing else. Suddenly, it grabs you and you feel yourself falling down what seems to be a cave full of mirrors, your face is completely green and fluffy. As if your whole face is a beard. The musky wooden smells are enough to make you pass out. You crash to the ground and notice you have scrapped your knee. You have cut it in such a way it says "Look closer". Ahead of you is pure gold... and lots of Crunch Corners.
